Lonna discovered the practice of yoga back in 1996 when dropping into a student teacher training class for $2! Lonna started exploring the varied practices and philosophies in Canada, India and herself. Makailey - RYT 200hr

MaKailey is new to Terrace, and just moved here from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. For many years she dabbled off and on with yoga, but it wasn’t until the 2020 pandemic that she really turned to yoga for balance, consistency, and deep inner healing. MaKailey found her practice and the yoga community to be tremendously supportive while navigating life’s challenges and unlearning self-limiting beliefs. Learning how to cultivate unconditional self-compassion has brought ease into her life, as this self-compassion and patience extends out into every facet of life, especially relationships. With a career background in trauma-informed Child and Youth Care and adult mental health programming, she felt becoming a yoga teacher would be another way to serve the community and share healthy ways of coping.

In July 2023, MaKailey left her position as a community outreach worker in Nova Scotia to pursue yoga teacher training in Bali, Indonesia. An amazing cultural immersion opportunity, she learned from knowledgeable instructors about the ancient origins of yogic practices and how they can help us feel like our best most connected selves, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Once she returned home to Canada she packed up and moved out to Terrace to be close to her partner’s family and is so grateful to feel welcomed and embraced here. MaKailey brings creative sequencing, playful energy, and space for exploration to her classes so you can deepen your practice in a way that feels best to you. She welcomes students of all experience levels and abilities and hopes to see you in class soon.

Samantha

Hi, I’m Samantha Kasdorf.

Often referred to as Sammy.

I really love and value movement. I’ve been a certified Yoga Instructor since 2013. I’ve also taken many ACSM courses on personal training.

Movement for me is a HUGE part of my life. When I’m not at the studio, I’m out ultra-running, biking, skiing, or hiking. Combining my knowledge of the fitness world with the yoga world from my trained and own personal experiences, lends me to offer a playful style of classes that are progressively sequenced, anatomy focused and builds strength while also flexibility.

Choosing this lifestyle is more than just physical. It’s about feeling alive, having confidence, paying attention, connection and clarity.

I want everyone to feel awake.  On and off the mat.

Leading others to recognize how strong and graceful they can be is why I teach.

Sending much love
